Christmaaaaasss!

Mostly posting what I got, since my Christmas was very hectic. Between my dad having to have surgery, the kitchen being flooded, and me even becoming sick myself, December has kind of been a mess. Luckily, my dad was able to come home from the hospital for the holidays. He'll have to go back soon though. But that's okay. The sooner he gets everything over there finished, the sooner he'll be feeling better!

One Christmas Eve, my family gives gifts. We give gifts for extended family on Christmas Day, so here's what I got:

An Epic Adventure

An Epic Mickey art piece.

This file is HUGE. It's 344 MB (for reference, 12 MB is generally a "big picture". My largest picture before this was 72 MB).

And it still looked better in my head. Oh well.

Now time to ramble. I seriously can't believe it's been a year since I got this game. I got my copy at the Disney Store in Times Square. I had asked if they had any Oswald stuff (since I figured maybe from the release of the game). No luck (hurrhurrpun), just Epic Mickey. So I decided that this game would have to hold me over. :P

Of course, I couldn't play it until we got home which drove me nuts. I sat in the hotel room one night when I couldn't sleep reading the manual.

Also, I made a wallpaper of Oswald in this pic, for anybody who wants to use it.

It's really big, but that's so it can fit any computer. I was too lazy to actually scale it to the different dimensions, hurrhurr.

"Oh My Iwerks!" Shirt

For those of you who are familiar with my Disney webcomic, "Mickey and Oswald", you'll "get this".
I recently designed and ordered an "Oh My Iwerks!" t-shirt from Spreadshirt.com.

Well... IT CAME IN! :D

So about the shirt as a shirt. The design looks great! Very professionally done - the quality is like that of a shirt that you'd buy at a chain store. The fabric is also very soft and nice. :3

The only real con I've found with it is that it has this sort of mayonnaise-y smell to it (*shrugs* only way I can describe it). The smell is already wearing off, and one quick wash would probably fix it... but as to whether or not that has to do with Spreadshirt or the delivery people, I'm not sure.

Oswald likes it too. :3

Anyway, back to regular life. Just had to show it off. :3

Some Drawings + Goodies In the Mail!

So yesterday, we went to lunch at this new awesome Asian restaurant in town. They had great food, good service, and they played awesome '80s and rockabilly music in there. 

When we got home, there were two boxes and one really big box in the mail with a very familiar logo.

You know this logo means something good. :D

Couldn't sleep, so obviously, drawing was the best thing to do.

Played around with some textures. I like how it turned out. One of the textures in there is actually my own. I bought some coloured textured paper the other day when this local craft store had a huge sale. Scanned it and used it here. Also got a lightbox and more Prismacolor markers, so I hope to do more traditional art.

Two Arts + My Seminar

The seminar was exciting yet tiresome. Day one was on story and characters, day two was on animation. Needless to say, this class confirmed that I DO NOT want to be an animator! I always leaned away from it and was more interested in story, and this class definitely showed it.

Here's to a future as a storyboard artist.

Also, two pictures plus a variation of one.

Drew this in my notebook at the seminar. Decided to ink and colour it when I returned home. I like it. :)

I guess you could say this was made to celebrate me finishing up my first summer semester of college. Now that that's done, I'm going out of town for the weekend to attend a seminar on storyboards and characters and stuff.

Finished up this week's project for my Photoshop class. Had fun working on it. I just wish I had more time to really enjoy art without stressing over stupid math. 

Oh well. 'Tis life.

Pinkie Pie's Hair!

Kind of a dumb thing to share, but I don't care (omgrhyme)
I bought her yesterday and she had terrible "box hair". Her hair was basically Fluttershy's 'do.  So I decided to fix that.

Here's how she turned out.

I think I'll redo her tail, but I'm pleased with how her mane turned out. :)
